Our Starkit team from MIPT took part in international robot soccer competitions in Russia and Germany: Robocup Russia Open 2019 and Robocup German Open 2019. We participated in the Humanoid KidSize league, in which humanoid robots 40–90 cm tall play soccer teams up to 4 players.
In the Russian championship, which was held from April 26 to April 28 in Tomsk, the MIPT team took the first place from three teams. In the German Championship on May 3-5, in the city of Magdeburg, we were the third out of five.
The winning team: captain Ivan Khokhlov, Vladimir Litvinenko, Ilya Ryakin, Nikita Kopersky, Pavel Senichkin and Dmitry Zavrazhnov. Team leader – Sergey Semendyaev. The founder of the team is Azer Babaev.
The official goal of the RoboCup competition is: “By the middle of the 21st century, a team of fully autonomous humanoid robot soccer players shall win a soccer game, complying with the official rules of FIFA, against the winner of the most recent World Cup”.
To achieve this goal, scientists solve many complex problems in various fields: real-time sensor operation, multi-agent context recognition systems, machine vision, learning, reactive behavior, real-time planning, strategic decision making, motion control, intelligent robot control, and others.
